History

Coleford Music Festival began in January 2000 when PMT Promotions called together a small group of likeminded individuals & started to plan an event. The first festival was held in 2000 to celebrate the millennium, it was a massive street party in which the town streets were closed to traffic & five stages were erected around the town centre.

It was a huge success & more people wanted to join the group so it became an annual event which grew until 2009 when escalating costs meant the event had to cease.

Over the years we have championed hundreds of artists, organised  many children’s workshops, created multiple performance areas, supported and promoted local businesses as well as hosted a fabulous annual celebratory weekend.

In 2015 we were pleased to announce that after discussions with local police, representatives from the Forest of Dean District Council and huge support from Coleford Town Council we were able to bring live music back to the town centre.

Coleford will again be abuzz with music revellers during its annual summer festival, with live music performances played across four different stages over the weekend in the town centre. The jam-packed programme will boast an eclectic mix of top music acts designed to appeal to all tastes, with jazz, reggae, folk musicians and more on the line up.

Music lovers can also enjoy a plethora of attractions spanning workshops, exhibitions, market stalls, demonstrations, street food, and much more.

A celebratory free event which supports the local community, Coleford Music Festival is sure to exceed festival-goers’ expectations and be a weekend for the whole family to enjoy.
