Engage Youth Circus was launched in 2000 and now runs regular busy classes catering for children 5yrs to young people of 18+. With a variety of exciting skills, Engage also offer workshops and performances for all kinds of festivals, fetes and shows! Engage Circus has captured the imagination of adults as well as children!
3pm Indigo Kings
Original and primarily a mix of jazzy blues and swing, which melds together to make ‘vintage pop’. Not tied to a specific genre, the combination of 5 people’s influences and styles makes for an exciting blend of sounds; Add the soaring saxes, funky bass and jazz drummer, then delicious female singers give the sound something completely different.
4pm Syren Alternative Belly Dancers.
4.15pm Ritmo Salsa Group (Workshop)
Classes for beginners and improvers on a Wednesday evening in Ritmo Tapas bar. They dance LA salsa style and will be providing an opportunity for everyone to join in during this workshop
4.45pm MAX (compere)
Max has been on and off the scene since 2009 and is back with his original songs to unite and uplift. A spoken word flare and a cheeky grin is all you need to ignite the vibes
5pm The Tailormade
THE TAILORMADE – crowned the ‘Best Buskers in London’ by Ex Mayor Boris Johnson, are an energetic, straight-talking mix of 3 brilliant young singer/songwriters. A friendship formed whilst at Carlisle University, coupled with a mutual passion for music, led them towards creating a new vibrant British sound. The lads have supported artists such as Blue, Rebecca Ferguson and CeeLo Green: performed to over 20,000 people in Trafalgar Square as part of ‘Pride in London’ and have been involved in the Brit Awards 2 years running.
They recently released their debut EP ‘thoughts fears and beers’ at London’s 02 Academy, Islington to a sold out crowd.
6.15pm The Rumble
The Rumble is a 3-piece garage rock band rock n roll influences. The 50’s rock n roll guitar fused with fuzzy bass and hard-hitting drums has proven to turn heads at shows around their hometowns in Gloucestershire. The band have started to build a strong fan-base locally and are looking to branch out nationally to seek a new audience.
Formed in 2015, the band has started strong, playing at Gloucester Rhythm & Blues Festival, Devauden Music Festival and supporting Rusty Shackle at The Louisiana, Bristol. They also released their debut EP in December 2015 which has received great reviews. The band’s unique sound is proving to be popular by audiences of all ages.
7.15 pm Keith Thompson Band
Keith Thompson, solo and with his band have been consistently performing in mainland Europe now for 20+ years, where they are well known to the large blues following as an exciting live band. This year Keith completed his 8th Blues/Rock album, “Catch the Fire” which features as guests, Buddy Whittington (John Mayall etc.) and rising star, Laurence Jones. Keith and the band have subsequently toured again in Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Poland, USA & UK. They also appeared at several major festivals in Croatia including Baska International Guitar Festival, Umag and Kastav Blues Festivals. Also at Slovenia at the prestigious “Postonja Blues Festival” with “Ten Years After” and “Paul Lamb and the Kingsnakes”, Suwalki and Krosno Festivals in Poland alongside, Jeremy Spencer (Fleetwood Mac), Clarksdale Blues Festival, USA, Colne R&B festival in Lancashire, Swanage, Banbury Upton and Gloucester Blues Festivals in the UK. Keith has added his skills on stage or in recordings to projects by Spooky Tooth, Mike D’Abo, Steve Winwood, Ruby Turner, Larry Burton, Dave Markee and Henry Spinetti (Eric Clapton Band and Tina Turner) Greg Ridley of Humble Pie, Robbie Blunt, (Robert Plant) Luther Grosvenor of Mott The Hoople, Gino Washington, and many others.
